Teddy Michael Adams was born in Los Angeles, California on May 1st, 1991, to a family with deep roots in music. Adams started playing guitar at the age of five, after his grandfather, Donald Adams, purchased his first guitar for him. He cites his grandfather as being his first real inspiration in becoming a musician, “My inspiration simply came from watching my grandfather play, and how much he loved music,” states Adams. His father, Nick Adams, is also an accomplished guitarist, and he credits his father with having a “good ear for music.”
At the age of fifteen, Adams heard a band that would forever change his life and become his main inspiration as a guitarist and songwriter, The Gipsy Kings. “When I first heard their music, it really hit me, I was passionate about it,” he said.
Adams has been a consistent member of The Rumba Kings' live shows and studio recordings since the first show and the first studio album titled, The Instrumental & Vocal Sessions, Vol. I. He also has three writing credits on the band’s sophomore release titled, The Instrumental Sessions, Vol. II, on the songs, One Beautiful Night, Latin Passion, and Magic Moments, of which he plays lead guitar on. An official music video was filmed for, "One Beautiful Night" - see below.
Adams is also an accomplished keyboardist and bassist, and also enjoys playing electric guitar, although nylon string acoustic guitar is his main instrument. In an interview on one of the band's podcasts titled, A Conversation and a Scotch, Episode 6, Adams performs an impressive impromptu guitar performance, that deeply impressed host Dubai Denis.
