Carlos Alberto Hernández Rodríguez known as Charly Hernández, was born on November 17, 1987 in Veracruz Mexico. Musician and singer-songwriter, coming from a family of musicians, he begins to show his passion for it at an early age; At the age of 4 with the support of his parents, he learned to play his first instrument (the drums) which allowed him to participate in different events in his city and television programs at a state level, motivating him to want to learn more instruments such as piano, bass and guitar.
His family was his first musical influence, allowing him to discover genres such as bolero, rock in both English and Spanish, jazz, bossa nova and salsa that were the bases of his training as a musician. Charly began his musical career at the age of 10 as a drummer in the band “Ajedrez” from Veracruz, making presentations at a national level and where 3 years later he had the opportunity to transition to keyboard and start singing as a backing vocalist. Little by little, his musical interests and influences expanded, awakening an interest in writing his own songs.
In 2005 he moved to the United States where many doors were opened for new projects and growth in the musical field, focused mainly on the tropical genre and salsa.
In 2018 he received the Board of Directors Award of the Latin Music Award from Univision Seattle for his contribution to the industry with his first single “A Distancia” from his new production that bears the same title. In 2019, the year the full album was released to the public, it was awarded Best Album of the Year at the Univision Seattle Latin Music Awards.
